Training & Development

Always another challenge…

Merlin actively supports personal career development for each and every member of staff through our Merlin Development Path. Your learning and development begins at Thorpe Park as soon as you are recruited.

All employees will attend a company induction. This gives you all the information you need to deliver fantastic customer service and the knowledge regarding your role and responsibilities while you are employed at the Thorpe Park.

You will also be required to attend a departmental induction – in which you'll receive the individual training, knowledge and tools to effectively work in your particular role.

For our new leaders in the company, we offer a six-week programme in how to effectively manage your team and to deliver the company values. The focus is on planning and organising your time to ensure you get the most from each day, while encouraging delegation and teamwork within your department.

For our Senior Leadership Team, we offer a 9-month programme allowing you to understand the qualities of a Merlin leader and to learn techniques on how to develop yourself further. This programme includes modules from Myers Briggs and 360º feedback.

As Merlin Entertainments grows and develops so does our need to support individual skill, therefore we are always striving to deliver up to date product knowledge and futuristic development to support the growing need of the business, this includes job role secondments, graduate programmes and specific qualifications as required of which some are highlighted below:
