12-month Business Placements
Learn serious business in a seriously fun way! Our 12-month Business Placements commence in July each year. We offer placements in a number of our business functions, with recent opportunities including Human Resources, Marketing and Commercial Business Support.
You will be given an essential role within the team, and your twelve months will be a steep learning curve as you build knowledge about your specialist function. You will be set projects along the way that will develop lasting skills and add real value to the business.
These placements are ideal if you are either studying a specialist business subject, or studying general business with the aim to specialise in your chosen field afterwards.
Leadership Development Placements
Our Leadership Development Placements are available during our open season (February to November) with flexible start and finish dates. You must however be available for a minimum of five months.
You will take on the role of a Team Leader in one of our front-line departments, driving your team to deliver the customer experience that our guests expect. This is definitely a leadership rather than a supervisory role, where you will quickly learn that operational excellence only comes from a well managed, motivated and inspired team.
To manage a team and run a busy front line department is a definite challenge, and is the ideal first step for those looking for a future career in operational management.
Several departments offer Leadership Placements, and options can be discussed at the application stage.
Flexible Operational Placements
You will never truly understand the visitor attraction, tourism or leisure industry until you've fully experienced life on the front line. That means working with the public, knowing how to communicate, and knowing how they think.
The public are at the core of our business: the skills you will learn by working with them will last you a lifetime, and will form the essential base for a career in our industry. You will quickly learn to work under pressure, to problem-solve and to 'use' initiative.
Almost all our front line departments offer work placement opportunities, which can be arranged at any time and for any duration during our open period (February to November). You must however, be available for a minimum of two months.
We will ensure you also learn about the business behind the fun, through a program of detailed information sessions with our key managers. You will also be part of the ‘Make A Difference Project', as your closeness both to our customers and employees puts you in the best position to tell us where we can improve.
